The Robocop remake, out in theaters today, is a pitch-perfect, badass update of a movie that is practically legendary. As if that weren’t surprising enough, it also manages to revive that lost art of the 80s: the smart B-movie that stumbles a bit but still goes where blockbusters fear to tread. The original Robocop was very much a film of its time, full of jokes about Reagan Era missile defense technology and focused on union politics that seem almost quaint now.

I just saw the premier of this movie today here in the Philippines and I
was amazed by the special robotic effects how would they formed up all
those sorts of technology the movie came into futuristic look like
perfection. It’s kinda different than the classic Robocop, however, this
movie stands of its own story and interesting plot with up-to-the-edge
of your seat ride of the intense gun fire action scenes. As far as
robotic kind of movie is concern, for me, this is far better than “Iron
Man 3″ and Hugh Jackman’s 2011 “Real Steel”.If IMDb would only allow me
to rate this movie more than 10 stars, then maybe I already would have
rated this movie to the most top of their rating section. If you’re
looking for intense computer-game-like rapid gun fire action and
jaw-dropping stunt entertainment then this is for you .
We know
this because early in the movie a conservative talk show host (Samuel
L. Jackson) flashes the magazine’s cover onscreen to illustrate a
controversy coursing through the body politic: whether or not America
should amend its laws to allow robots to patrol the streets as law
enforcement. They’re already performing this function, after all, on
peacekeeping missions in locales such as Tehran—and what U.S. city
wouldn’t want to adopt that civic utopia as a model?
The only
problem is that all-important “conscience”—or more accurately,
consciousness—tends to slow down the law-enforcing. Where Omni Corp’s
robots can take out a bad guy in milliseconds, Murphy’s impulse to think
first and shoot later is messing with his performance. And so, at
Sellars’s behest, Omni Corp doctor Dennet Norton (Gary Oldman) starts
screwing around (literally) in Murphy’s head. The result is a cyborg
that responds autonomously to combat situations with Murphy’s
consciousness merely following along for the ride—an illusion of
selfhood. (Somewhere, Rust Cohle is laughing.)
